“This Prozac capsule is a recent project. I have taken antidepressants for many, many years. I have heard all of the implied promises of pills. I know how easily the promise of pills is broken. Working on this piece let me enjoy the candy-like appeal of medications. There is so much magic in the bright colors. I’ve taken Prozac for a few years now. Sometimes I hate my dependence on this drug. Sometimes I am utterly ashamed. I’m trying to make peace with it.”
